![]() ![]() Ironically, when the house keeping lady left, she flushed the toilet ( I assume a routine after cleaning the toilet) and the water didn’t stop running! Once again, my husband had to fix the problem himself. We had no choice but to call the front desk again since we didn’t have any towels left. Later in the afternoon, when we returned to our room, the bathroom was not cleaned as requested. We decided to avoid the hotel staff for the rest of our stay. We had our schedule of the day and we didn’t want further disruption by coming back to beg for a room change at 1pm or face another unpleasant confrontation. Is that why she said I didn’t understand her though I understood her perfectly? In the end, the lady told us if we didn’t like her solution, we can talk to the hotel manager who would come in in the afternoon. I was shocked to hear all these!! I’m Asian and I am not American. At one point the lady said to us that we received the correct room and we CHOSE not to like our room! She then told me to stop, I didn’t listen to her and I didn’t understand her. Feeling frustrated, I had to repeat my questions several times. She ignored my questions and kept on repeating the same thing. I also told her we’d like to avoid confusion for our future stays. I told her I understood she obviously didn’t put up the room information, but I’d like to understand who’s responsible ( it could be a simple error by IHG or ) so I can take my complaints elsewhere. She seemed a bit perplexed with me or my questions, and told me she already explained the situation to my husband and solved the problem. I made it clear I’d like to understand why specific room sizes were included in room description when booking, but the actual room assignments didn’t seem to follow these descriptions. As we were leaving the hotel to go about with our day, I went to talk to the front desk with my followup questions. On website the room size for this option is listed as 300 sq ft. I made sure I didn’t select this “Standard Room” type since it seemed random, but select the “Deluxe King”. One option is for a room type “Standard Room”, with room size listed as 250 sq ft, and with either a queen bed or king bed. I remembered when I made the reservation through, room size was included in the room description. She also said we could check back with the front desk at 1pm to see if there’s another room available so we can switch. We can make a special request when making reservations, but the room assigned depends on the availability of the day at time of check-in. However, the rooms in this category are not identical, and they vary in size and layout. The lady at the front desk confirmed that the room assigned to us was a DSK. As the reservation was under my husband’s name, he went down to talk to the front desk. We would like to avoid booking this particular room for our future stays. At this point, we decided to raise our concerns about the room and double checked with the front desk to see if we indeed was assigned a DSK room. The other person could still be in bed or stepping out of the showers not dressed properly. If one person goes out and comes back in the morning to get coffee, with the door open you have a full view of the room. ![]() We also realized that the room door right next to the bed was a really awkward design. We had to use all the remaining towels to block the water from getting in the bed area. The bathroom floor was covered with water. After we both showered in the following morning, we realized there was a leak in the shower stall. My husband had to open the water tank to stop the running water. The water would continue running depending on the way you push down the handle to flush. Later into the evening, we realized the toilet didn’t flush properly. We were a little surprised as we’ve never stayed at a room of this size and layout in the past at this hotel. The room assigned to us was really small and with the door right next to the bed. We had to go back to the front desk twice to get both cards to work. The check-in this time was not very smooth. The hotel was clean and pet friendly, at a great location, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Pre-Covid, we used to stay at the hotel a few times a year whenever we visited Baltimore. Our recent stay at Hotel Indigo for 2 nights was extremely disappointing. ![]()
